For the past eleven years, TRISP Psychological Services, P.C., a referral service affiliated with the Institute of TRISP, has provided high quality psychotherapy for a wide variety of patients at a sliding scale rate. All participating therapists are TRISP candidates, faculty members directly connected with TRISP, or "affiliated therapists" who are in supervision with senior TRISP supervisors. And, all TRISP therapists employ a clinical approach informed by both self psychology and the theory of intersubjectivity.
TRISP therapists have offices throughout the greater metropolitan area. They treat individuals, groups, couples, and families. Many have special expertise in treating trauma, addictions, bipolar mood disorders, as well as narcissistic, borderline, and schizoid personality disorders. Experienced psychopharmacologists connected with TRISP provide evaluations and follow-up for medications.
We are now in the process of creating a series of "centers," each of which will focus on patients with needs for highly specialized forms of psychotherapeutic treatment. These include a center for treating bipolar mood disorders, a center for treating cancer patients and their families, a center for treating couples, a center for working with gays and lesbians, a center for treating adopted children and their families, and a center for treating difficulties stemming from work and employment related problems.
Referrals are evaluated promptly by an experienced intake worker. Following an initial evaluation, patients are referred to a therapist deemed best suited to meet their needs.
