The Interplay between the Intrapsychic and the Interpersonal at the Time of Birth
Psychoanalytic Self Psychology and Infant Research in a clinical dialogue
A psychoanalytic treatment process with an adult patient will be presented. The dialogue will focus on those of the patient-analyst interactions that help locate and conceptualize analytic change. The dialogue will address similarities and differences between structural changes in the course of development and psychoanalytic treatment. The focus will be on how Prof. Stern's conceptualization of developmental changes can improve on the therapists' clinical-interpretive responsiveness in the psychoanalytic and psychotherapeutic situation.
