Panel II concerns an integration of the theoretical and clinical aspects of trauma and dissociation with self psychology. An overview of the current understanding of trauma and its historical roots will be presented by Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, a leading international authority on the subject of trauma. His presentation will be followed by trauma case studies treated by two self psychologically oriented clinicians, Dr. Amy Eldridge and Ms. Anne Groves.
